Register for Remaining Fall 2008/Spring 2009 Registration Openings! Games Begin September 5th! Please refer to our NEW site at AYSO211.COM for further information! 14 Jul 2008 Attention Volunteers: We are in a REFEREE CRISIS! Please remember this when registering! We do not have enough referees to cover the future scheduled games. We will need every trained and certified referee to be prepared to referee their child's game. Anyone who has not signed up to referee a game is urged to contact Bill at 744-5556 immediately. You are only asked to referee once per week and you can referee your own child’s game. We are also in desperate need of NEW Referees. EVERY TEAM FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON NEEDS TO PROVIDE A REFEREE! If you are interested in attending a class in the future, please also contact Bill at the above phone number. If we do not get enough, your child’s game may not have a referee and untrained parents will be asked to provide this service. If there are still no volunteers, your game may be cancelled! This region is organized and run by volunteers. During registration for the Fall 2008/Spring 2009, we will be asking people to become referee candidates for the referee class (U8-U19) in August. This will enble us to fill our vital referee schedule. We appreciate you volunteering for this vital trained position! 14 Jul 2008 Attention Volunteers: Future Coaches! This will enble us to get the changes to the coaches. Every year we seek valuable volunteers as coaches, assistant coaches and team parents. These wonderful people commit to every week throughout the season. Next, we struggle with obtaining REFEREES. We supply: great training, uniforms and free trips to the concession stand. And every year we receive complaints that there are never enough. As an organization we are asking that each coach supply a referee for their U8 and older team. (U5C and U6C parents may participate in older divisions, but referees are not required at these games.) This year, if not enough people attend the training, you may NOT have a referee at your game and your coach will not simply be able to take the field. This will result in organized chaos! The training is simple and can be done in one day. After trained we ask that he/she attend their child's game and commit to refereeing at least one game each week (just as coaches commit to coaching each week), and if enough people volunteer, we will have plenty. (You may not referee if you are the head coach of that same team) However, to just get 1 referee per field, we currently need: 30 Regional referees for U10 and older (actually this age group needs 90 including assistant referees at 3 per field), and 16 Referees for U8. Total of 46+ per week! We've done everything possible and now it is your turn! We desperately need everyone's assistance or we will ALL be paying for it.
